Home, Sweet Home

Hi friends! Didn't mean to be absent for so long. Just returned yesterday from a fun week in Southern California vacationing with my older two kids and my sister (Aunt Pepper to them). I had the grandest of plans to get some things scheduled to post while I was gone, but time got away from me. I'm anxious to catch up on blog surfing as well as get back into my craft room!

I have a little good/bad stampy news, too...

The good news is that MFT's next release is tonight! Don't miss out on all the awesome teasers the team has been sharing the past few days (check Kim's blog for daily lists of all the teasers). The release party is tonight from 8-10 pm in the MFT forum on Splitcoast.

Now for the bad news -- It's been a very tough decision, but I've elected to step down from the MFT design team. I'd like to thank Kim for the opportunity to design for MFT the past eighteen months, and I'd like to thank all of the MFT designers for their friendship and camaraderie. I've enjoyed every minute of my time on the team, and hope to return soon! In the meantime, I'll be spending my new "free time" seeking that elusive thing called balance.

Awww Amy, Im' so sorry to see you go but totally respect your decision and love ya as a designer just the same! I lost two followers today b/c of my decision to stop one my challenge blogs and I tell ya, we can't do it all, right? 18 mts is a long time to design for a company and I THANK you for gracing us w/ all of those beautiful projects you've always had! Big hugs sweetie!

I am so sad to hear that, but I do understand about balance. I like to do what I want to do when I want to do it :). I love enjoying Spring and Summer, family and friends.

Good for you for taking a step towards balancing the demands on your time. Hard decisions often bring great rewards! I turn down many things (not DT positions, of course LOL!, but in other areas of life - PAC positions, church activities etc.) so I have time and energy to pour myself into the lives of my kids (and my family) while they are still young. Time passes soooo quickly!! Mine will be home but a short ten more years or so and with the teens coming up all the more reason to ensure I have a great relationship with them and have taught them well so I can help them navigate that turbulent time in life.

Being a mom is one of the hardest jobs in the world, and one in which you don't often get a lot of affirmation, recognition or "rewards" for. We have to sacrifice all the time, but I'm sure our rewards will be great in heaven :D

There will be NO shortage of oppotunities for you when the time is right, because your work is simply amazing! (((HUGS)))

Welcome back and I wish I had known you were vacationing in Southern California, I would have loved to meet you, even for 15 minutes, as I live there! And you know...everything happens for a reason, I trust that. I LOVE everything you make, you know that already, as I announced it to the world..hehehe...

I am so jealous of your trip! Oh the water makes me so refreshed! And believe me, I totally understand your decision. After an 8 month haitus, I figured out that "balance" was something I was "off" of! Kudos to you and your decision! You will be happy~
