Hello - CAS(E) this Sketch #87

I'm thrilled to be guest designing with the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge today! I LOVE that challenge, and their design team is such an inspiration each and every challenge! This week, CAS(E) this Sketch is also teaming up with another fabulous challenge, Tag, You're It, so in addition to using the sketch below, either make a tag or include a tag on your card project.

Visit the CAS(E) this Sketch blog for all the design team samples, challenge details, and link list.

I knew right away I wanted to do a white-on-white embossing paste look for those diagonal stripes. I used a die-cut for a stencil: Pretty Panels Diagonal Stripe Confetti Cuts by Reverse Confetti. The "hello" die-cut (by Simon Says Stamp) happened to be on my desk, and everything else fell into place quickly. Fun sketch by Gayatri!!

To give the word die-cut some added stability and thickness, I layered it onto some Craft-A-Board by Ellen Hutson. This is a new-to-me product, and it is perfect for beefing up the more delicate die-cuts. I also went over the word die-cut with a clear Wink of Stella pen. I've tried a lot of different shimmer products over the years, and this is the easiest to work with out of all of them -- easy brush-tip applicator, uniform coverage. Thumbs up for sure!

Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you'll play along!

You Are My Happy

There's still time to play along with Reverse Confetti's July Color Challenge. The deadline is July 29 at noon CST. Hope you'll join us! Here's July's beautiful color combo:

What a great combo for the FABULOUS FLAMINGO set! I thought it would be fun to have my flamingo standing in a puddle of sparkly sequins. I embossed a large PERFECTLY PAISLEY onto the card base, filled it with diamond glaze, and then sprinkled turquoise, white, and clear sequins on top. The water splashes are also done with the PERFECTLY PAISLEY CONFETTI CUTS

The word "you" is die-cut from the new TAG ME, TOO CONFETTI CUTS, and the rest of the sentiment is from ALL ABOUT YOU.

Head over to the Reverse Confetti blog for a fresh dose of color challenge from the design team!

Have a great weekend!

Being Unique

Great sentiment, wouldn't you agree? It's from Reverse Confetti's new FABULOUS FLAMINGO stamp set. (Warning: this blog could easily turn into the flamingo channel - I love this set that much!)

I used an older Retro Sketch, #121. I've long missed the deadline. It was posted almost a month ago now, but still a great sketch!

FABULOUS FLAMINGO has coordinating dies for added convenience!

Happy hump day!

May Card Kitchen (Yes, May!)

It seems during the end-of-school-year frenzy, I forgot all about posting my creations from the MAY Card Kitchen kitBut I just checked, and that kit IS still available, so here goes!

Visit The Card Kitchen blog for lots of kit inspiration. Right now, Kimber is showing peeks of the upcoming August kit, which I must say is one of the best-ever! But for now, rewind to May:

This last card was based on a sketch that I found HERE. Great for using up some paper scraps!

Thanks for stopping by to visit!

StampNation Summer Beach Vacation Blog Hop

Today we are kicking off the StampNation Summer Beach Vacation event with a Blog Hop. Each of the StampNation Dream Team members, along with some of our crafty friends (including me!), are hopping along sharing cards inspired by our first challenge, "Beach Style," as well as a peek at another favorite projects from the event!

Here's my card for the first challenge:

I'm absolutely smitten with Lawn Fawn's adorable beach-themed Life Is Good stamp set and coordinating dies! Especially the super cute flip-flops! How cute are they paper pieced with some bright polka dot paper?? The towel is a piece of patterned paper (Echo Park Walking On Sunshine 6x6 collection) rolled up and fringed at the end. That's my beach style: sand, surf, and a few colorful accessories!

It's time to hop along now. Make sure you leave comments at each of the blogs listed below to be eligible to win...

Plus...

For each of these prizes, one winner will be randomly drawn from all the blog hop comments. A second winner will be chosen from all the challenge entries at StampNation!

You will have have until 11:59 pm EST on July 27 to leave a comment. Winners will be chosen randomly and will be announced on Monday, July 28th on Catherine's blog.

For The Bird

This was one of my favorite cards that I made for the latest REVERSE CONFETTI release. Love all the new dies and that gorgeous background paper from Crate Paper's Styleboard collection!

The "for you" is die-cut with TAG ME, TOO CONFETTI CUTS dies, and the bird was done with PERFECTLY PAISLEY CONFETTI CUTS dies. The beak is the leaf die from FRESH 'N FRUITY CONFETTI CUTS. In the background is a circle from CIRCLES 'N SCALLOPS CONFETTI CUTS. I embellished with a ticket strip, torn paper, light yellow sequins, and two sweet cardboard hearts (from the LOVE NOTE CONFETTI CUTS die set)
