Summertime Inspiration

Welcome to the first group post for Papertrey's May release. Today is all about summer! We're featuring three new stamp sets -- Second Helping of Sunshine, sequel to Bowl of Sunshine; Quilted: Summer, the newest in Betsy's seasonal quilt stamp line; and Plaid Builder.

All of the new products will be available in the Papertrey Ink store on May 15 at 10 pm. Be sure to visit Nichole's blog today for product details, giveaway info, and inspiration.

Speaking of inspiration, this pitcher of white sangria was the inspiration for my first card. The perfect summertime beverage!

I used Plaid Builder to make a warm, summery plaid pattern using colors from the photo: Pure Poppy, Melon Berry, Harvest Gold, and Limeade Ice. I added some Berry Sorbet for good measure.

The individual stripes in the Plaid Builder set were surprisingly easy to line up. Think of all the fun you can have playing with the colors and arranging the lines to make your own custom plaids!

For the focal image, I stamped a yellow Pyrex bowl from Second Helping of Sunshine and filled it with some yummy pears. I think my mom has a bowl just like this! Behind the bowl and sentiment is a frame done with Tag Sale #10, and along the bottom is a scalloped edge done with Edgers #3.

Next up is a card made with Quilted: Summer. And here is my inspiration:

Does that look delicious or what?! Here's what I came up with:

I love the pinwheel configuration of this summer quilt! Both the large and small triangles in the quilt stamp set have four different patterns to choose from.

I assembled my quilt using pieces stamped in Pure Poppy, Limeade Ice and True black. Behind the quilt is a piece of Black and White all Over paper.

I added a sentiment and flower to the center and that was that!
