Quick Crafts for the Holidays

Welcome to Papertrey Ink's first group post for the October release countdown.

Welcome to Day 3 of Papertrey Ink's October release countdown. Today is the first of three group posts for this release, and we are featuring holiday products that are particularly well-suited for quick and efficient holiday crafting. Today you'll be seeing all sorts of ideas for projects that literally come together in minutes!

All of the new products will be available at 10 pm ET on October 15 in the Papertrey Ink store.

My projects all feature Maile Belles's Quick Notes: Holiday stamp set and the Quick Notes: Holiday cover plate die. The layout is built right in to the cover plate design, so it can be as simple as just choosing your colors!

There's room for embellishing, too, yet still keeping the process quick. I glittered the whole cover plate*, embellished with a colorful assortment of jumbo-size sequins, and added a Tropical Teal Simple Gift Bow die-cut, which is another new quick and easy product that you'll see today. The Simple Gift Bow die is designed by Erin Lincoln. So clever with the grosgrain detail!

*The trick for quickly coating a large die-cut like this with glitter is spray adhesive. I use an inexpensive Elmer's spray adhesive. Give the die-cut a generous spray (spray into a box to contain the mess), then sprinkle on the glitter. I also keep my glitter in a plastic container, which eliminates the need to collect the excess glitter and get it back into the tiny glitter jar.

The spray adhesive also made adhering the cover plate to the panel behind it super quick and easy, too.

I used a black pigment ink so that I could clear emboss the sentiment.

Ink: Versafine Onyx Black

Paper: Stamper's Select White, Smokey Shadow, and Tropical Teal card stock

Other: Elmer's spray adhesive, clear glitter, clear embossing powder, sequins

Next, I've used just the Quick Notes: Holiday stamp to make some quick gift tags. I used a stamp positioner for the ombre stamping. To glitter the sentiment, I stamped one more impression, this time in Versamark, added heat 'n' stick powder, melted that, then added the glitter. Sounds like a lot of steps, but everything went quickly.

I used Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, and Tropical Teal on this tag.

The colors here are Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, and Scarlet Jewel.

And here I used Green Parakeet, New Leaf and Pinefeather.

The tag base is Tag Sale #2. I added some silver cord and embellished with jingle bells.

Beautiful color combos for your ombre tags & I love all the glitter! You make me want to try the sticky stuff again--not always successful, but love how it worked for you!
