An Old Friend

The other day I was trying (unsuccessfully) to color a snowy landscape for an image I was working with and was reminded of this snowy scene that I created during my Splitcoast Dirty Dozen tenure. The tree image and sentiment are from Tree Silhouettes by GinaK, the background is watercolored using Stampin' Up re-inkers, and the whole scene was colored to look like a P. Buckley Moss print (Trees in Harmony) that's in my home.

Thanks for popping in today!

Stamps: Tree Silhouettes (Gina K. Designs)
Paper:Canson 140-lb cold-press watercolor paper, SU Basic Black and Mellow Moss; Around the Block
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: SU top note die and clear embossing powder; Kaiser black adhesive pearls, Offray black satin ribbon, SU Basic Black and Going Gray markers

OMG, this colouring is beyond perfection! The scene looks so natural is if it was a whole from the beginning, and not a composition of several stamps! Awesome!

LOVE this winter scene, Amy! P.Buckley Moss' museum is only 2 miles from my house (as is her home place). She's a very popular artist in this area!

Amy, you did a beautiful job! I love P. Buckley Moss and your version in stamped form is wonderful. Your background shadows are just the right shades. And the sentiment is so right on. My daughter-in-laws mother, and my dearest friend said it's because we have a "history". Even though we are far apart in distance our hearts are bonded in love (even more so now).

Hi Amy, this card is truely amazing! However you watercolored the background of this card, you nailed it! I had to enlarge it to try and see if it was a decorative paper (before I actually read how you did it). Great Job! Wish I could watercolor this way.
Take Care and Happy Holidays!

Love how you put the stamps together to creat a scene. I've never lived in the snow but your card looks like I would think it should be!
