Hi friends, lots of good stuff to cover today! First, today is Day 1 of five days of My Favorite Things previews, a.k.a. MFTeasers, all leading up to a new release this coming Wednesday, March 3. Today we're showing off I Want Candy, previously available only as part of a kit, but now available on its own. Love all the sweet little images and sentiments in this set! For a list of links to all the MFT designers who are posting teasers today, visit Kim's blog anytime after 11 am EST.
Second, did you know that each month My Favorite Things has a challenge to determine our guest designer for the next month? This month, Megan Lock and I are hosting the challenge, which is to use book text or music paper (or both) on your project. It's such a trendy look, so if you haven't tried it already, now's a good time! The deadline for entering is Tuesday, March 2, 10 pm EST, and to be entered you upload to Splitcoaststampers using keyword: MFTGUESTDT0310. Visit THIS POST in the My Favorite Things Member Company Forum for all the details.
Finally, today's card is my sample for this week's Sketch For You To Try. This is the last week to participate in the ginormous giveaway that Jen has put together, too! Here's the sketch:
And here's some amazing inspiration:
Jen del Muro with guest designer Mona Pendleton
Amy Rohl
Kelly Lunceford
Leigh O'Brien
Susan Liles
Remember, to be entered into the drawing, add your sketch card to the appropriate sketch slideshow at i{heart}2stamp.com. You can enter as many times as you like, but the deadline for the prize drawing is Tuesday, March 2. Can't wait to see who the lucky winner is!
Okay, a little bit about my card: the sweet lollipops and "Sweet Treats" sentiment are both part of I Want Candy. The lollies are paper pieced with various patterns from the My Mind's Eye Home photo mat pad and given a Diamond Glaze coating for some fun shine. Here's a close-up of that:
I framed the lollipops with a Tattered Angels Framed Fonts Glimmer Chip. Behind the frame is some old book paper, and then some paper pleated music paper is tucked behind the ribbon. All the edges have been heavily distressed, both with a distressing tool and some ivory acrylic paint.
And here's a look at the inside:
Thanks for visiting!
