You're A Cool Friend - November SFYTT

Here's the November sketch:

I picked out the recently released Cool Friend stamp set for my card. Aren't these snowmen just the absolute cutest?! I'm also loving these two patterned papers together. Both are from the Cheerful & Kind 6x6 Pad.

I accented with a trio of Snowflake Trio snowflakes, each coated with some Clear Wink of Stella shimmer and topped with a black sequin.

For A Special Friend - October SFYTT

Here's our October sketch:

I started with some of the adorable images from Nuts About You, die-cut them with the coordinating Nuts About You Confetti Cuts dies, and colored with Copics. I arranged the images onto a pair of tags that I cut with the Tag Duo Confetti Cuts. For the horizontal strip element the sketch (the taupe/gray rectangle), I tucked in two branches (also from Nuts About You).

For the larger horizontal band, I opted to give a hint of a scene with the grassy slope die that's included in the Nuts About You Confetti Cuts set. The final touches were some loops of black and white baker's twine through the tags and a pair of subtle white-on-white clouds (die-cut with the Sun 'N Clouds Confetti Cuts die set).

Worm Wishes - August SFYTT

Today I'm sharing my take on the August Sketch For You To Try by Reverse Confetti.

The sketch:

And my interpretation:

I started with a Premier Polar White card base, rounded the top corners, and stamped some dashed lines across the middle using an Elemental Stripes image and Baby Blue ink. 

Next I took a smaller white panel and turned it into a notebook page using border dies from the Office Edges Confetti Cuts set. 

On top of that, I layered the "ABCDE" die-cut, which I trimmed out of a larger ABC Cover Panel Confetti Cuts die-cut. I cut the cover panel out of Midnight card stock and lightly swiped some white pigment ink across for a slight chalkboard look. A pair of mini staples add to the school theme as well as secure the letter strip to the notebook page layer. 

The adorable little bookworm, from Worm Wishes  has been stamped, die-cut with the coordinating Worm Wishes Confetti Cuts die, colored with Copics, and then snipped in half so that I could make him look like he's coming through the apple. (Masking would have been best for this look, but this little guy was already stamped and colored, so I couldn't resist the shortcut!)

To finish the card, I added a sentiment above the worm, a trio of sequins, and a touch of Charcoal Striped Twine.

For Someone Special - July SFYTT

Hey there! It feels like forever since I've created/posted! My family and I enjoyed a wonderful vacation in Alaska the first half of this month, and it's been an adjustment trying to get back into the crafty headspace (as opposed to the outdoors/recreation/nature/scenery/it's-still-light-at-midnight headspace!). Today's card is the first I've managed to finish since we got back, and I have to say, it felt great crafting again! I even filmed a little video, so I'll have a tutorial tomorrow for that farmhouse-inspired gate in the background!

I've used Reverse Confetti's July Sketch For You To Try for my layout. The challenge is open until noon on the 29th -- plenty of time left to join us! You'll find all the details and link-up HERE.

I've used the Pierced Round Top Layers die set and the Vertical Stripes Cover Panel die for the farmhouse gate. The floral banner is from the new Banner in Bloom set, and the yellow pattern in the background is from the new Under the Umbrella 6x6 paper pad.

My card is a little more stripy than the sketch, thanks to the Vertical Stripes Cover Panel Confetti Cuts die-cut in the background. The Lime Green hexagon panel was cut with the Hello & Thanks Label Confetti Cuts die set. I stamped the label with the "brave brilliant resilient" sentiment from One Day At A Time. And for the trio of circles in the sketch, I added the stamped and die-cut kite, from Take Flight, and a pair of white clouds from the Take Flight Confetti Cuts set. I kept things super clean and simple, with just a few clear sequins for embellishments.
