Golden Birthday Wishes

Happy Thursday, friends! I have a birthday card to share today using one of the newest Reverse Confetti stamp sets, ROUNDABOUT ADDITIONS.

I was undecided which direction to go with this, elegant/messy/festive, so I combined elements of all three. The die cut panels in the background were done with STARS PRETTY PANELS CONFETTI CUTS and TRIANGLES PRETTY PANEL CONFETTI CUTS, and the circle was done with the largest die in the CIRCLES 'N SCALLOPS CONFETTI CUTS set. For fun, I added some black and gold ink splatters, wood veneer stars, and a looped length of black and white baker's twine.

It was so nice to spend some time today stamping. I need my me-time and my creative outlet!

Thanks for stopping by,

With A Grateful Heart

A quick share today -- my sample for this month's Sketch For You To Try. Head over to the Reverse Confetti blog for sketch inspiration and to play along!

I've had some Simple Stories Sweater Weather papers for a while now, and finally cut into them. Love the warm, cozy look of the knit pattern especially! The sentiment is from Reverse Confetti's GIVE THANKS set. I stamped in Memento Luxe Olive Grove ink,  die-cut with Reverse Confetti's GIVE THANKS LABEL CONFETTI CUTS, and accented with an itty bitty wood veneer heart. The woodgrain brown circle was cut with one of the circles from CIRCLES 'N SCALLOPS CONFETTI CUTS. The Kraft scallops were done with the DOUBLE EDGE SCALLOP BORDER CONFETTI CUTS.

Hope you'll play along with our sketch challenge too!

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Burlap Banner

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration ChallengeBurlap Banner

We have a new sponsor, The Twinery, for the Curtain Call Inspiration: Burlap Banner! A randomly selected participant in the Burlap Banner challenge will receive a fabulous bundle from The Twinery, while the LEAD will be invited as a Guest Designer in a future challenge!

The Twinery generously sent a beautiful assortment of twines to the Curtain Call designers. I LOVE twine to pieces, and use some kind of twine or string on just about all of my projects.

For today's project, I needed a super quick and simple way to package up a small gift (and trust me, this is whip-up-something-on-the-way-out-the-door fast!). I started out with a burlap bag (part of my fall swap goodies from Curtain Call teammate Sheri), then added an oak leaf trimmed out of a sheet of Bat-tastic Leaves Kraft Die-Cut paper by Anna Griffin and a Jillibean Soup wood flag. I cinched the bag with a generous amount of The Twinery's Mandarin Stripe twine, which was the perfect splash of orange on my otherwise neutral bag.

The Twinery Designers, our Guest Designer and the Curtain Call Crew have lots of additional inspiration for you today!  Make sure you visit each of the designers' blogs!

Reverse Confetti October Mini-Release Hop

What did you think of the Reverse Confetti mini-release projects the Confetti Crew showed yesterday? Nice surprise, yes?! Today, the 8th, is hop day. All the new products from yesterday are now available, plus you get a whole new round of inspiration during today's hop!

If you arrived here from Leigh Penner's blog, you're right on track. If you've just happened to wander by, head over to the beginning of the hop, the Reverse Confetti blog. That way you won't miss a thing!

Today, my project features the new ROUNDABOUT and ROUNDABOUT ADDITIONS stamp sets, as well as the new ENVIE WRAP CONFETTI CUTS die. First, the card:

The brown piece with the scalloped edges was done with the ENVIE WRAP CONFETTI CUTS die. After cutting it once, I rotated the die-cut 180 degrees, nestled it back in the die, and ran it through again. This gave me a nice symmetrical shape with scallops on both ends. I stamped the "hb2u" sentiment from ROUNDABOUT ADDITIONS in VersaMark on vellum, heat embossed in gold, and die cut it with the smallest circle from CIRCLES 'N SCALLOPS (so great how all of these products coordinate size-wise!). The confetti background was done with the smaller circle stamps in ROUNDABOUT.

Next is the coordinating envelope:

I love that I can dress up my envelopes like this! Since most of my cards won't go through the mail in a traditional way anyway, the extra layers on the envelope don't change anything. That said, I can't wait to try making a mailable wrap next!

The "deliver to" circle is from ROUNDABOUT, and the smaller "hb2u" accent circle is from ROUNDABOUT ADDITIONS. The confetti circles in the background, again, are from ROUNDABOUT.

That's it for me today! Next on the hop is the amazing and talented Sarah Gough. Enjoy!

Countdown to Confetti: Hanging Out

The wait for new REVERSE CONFETTI products is over: Jen's got a sweet little mini-release for RC fans this month. We'll be showing peeks today, and tomorrow, the 8th, we'll have our usual monthly blog hop. Be sure to visit the Reverse Confetti blog for a list of all the designers who are posting peeks today, as well as details on the giveaways!

I'm showing off two projects today, both featuring a fun new die called HANGING OUT. Use this die to make door hangers or wine bottle tags. My first project combines HANGING OUT with the TREAT TOTE from September's release to make a door hanger pouch. I was thinking of hanging these on my kids' doors on Halloween, but wouldn't they be fun with the "you've been booed" tradition, too?

Next up is a tag for a wine or champagne bottle:

Instead of cutting the opening on the side for a door hanger, cut it on the end, and it slips right around the neck of the bottle -- perfect!

I couldn't resist the "eat, drink & be merry" sentiment from BRING ON THE MERRY.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
