Reverse Confetti February Creative Hop

Reverse Confetti has changed to an every-other-month release schedule, but we'll still be hopping on the 8th of every month, bringing you fresh inspiration for your favorite Reverse Confetti products!

It's been a while since I got my shabby on, but that's just what I've done for today's Valentine decor project. I started with a corrugated metal heart that I picked up at Hobby Lobby.

Next, I added a paper doily and two lengths of trim, and wrapped some aqua wired cord around the heart.

I used mini clothespins to clip letter stickers to the trim. The letters, by Heidi Swapp, are really, really old and from my scrapbooking stash.

I used the stitched hearts from the XOXO Hearts Confetti Cuts die set to cut some light pink felt hearts, which I rolled and layered into a flower. The leaves, cut from aqua felt, were die-cut with leaf dies from the Blooms 'N Buds Confetti Cuts die set. 

I also added a few paper stitched hearts from one of the patterns in the True Love paper collection and some light pink buttons.

The pink felt "xoxo" die-cut was also done with the XOXO Hearts Confetti Cuts die set.

Make It Monday #275: Stamped Dangles

Happy Monday, friends! I am hosting this week's Make It Monday challenge over at Papertrey Ink. Hope you'll join in the fun!

Lately I've been fascinated with "dangles," which are doodled jewelry-like embellishments for hand lettering. Two artists, in particular, pop up regularly on my Instagram feed: 

Joanne Fink, creator of Zenspirations and author of a book called Zenspirations Dangle Designs

Olivia Kneibler of Olivia and Company and author of a soon-to-be-released book called The Art of Drawing Dangles: Creating Decorative Letters and Art With Charms.

I thought it would be a fun challenge to stamp and doodle dangles onto sentiments, so that's the topic of this week's video and challenge!

I carved out a little time this morning to do something I haven't done in a while: play along with a couple of challenges. The Freshly Made Sketch #273 is a really fun one:

Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday challenge is all about LOVE *and* they are featuring Reverse Confetti, so I'll be entering their challenge as well!

CAS isn't my forte, so I labored a bit :) The trio of patterned paper and the adorable pig were the easy parts! The pig and fence are from Reverse Confetti's Cured stamp set and are die-cut with Cured Confetti Cuts dies. The papers are all from Reverse Confetti's True Love 6x6 paper pad.

I added a little bit of stitching to the patterned paper strips ...

... and a paper clip with some black and white baker's twine.

Papertrey January Release in Review Part 2

I have a few more projects to share using the recent January release products:

First is Boho Rounds, designed by Maile Belles. My daughter is re-doing her room and has picked out some bohemian tapestries to hang on the walls. This card is inspired by one of them. She loves indigo, turquoise, aqua, and teal, and so do I!

I heat embossed the images in white, then added color with Prismacolor pencils.

My next card features What the Doodle: Paisley stamps and dies designed by Betsy Veldman. 

It's a little hard to see, but I stamped the paisleys in white onto a Soft Stone background. 

I also stamped the large one onto watercolor paper, diecut it, and colored with Zig clean color markers. The sentiment is from Dawn McVey's Family Ties.

And last up is another fun card using the birthday Cornered die. Just like the one I shared during the countdown, this one features a colorful arrangement of Tag Sale: Quilted banners in the background.

We're the Perfect Pear - January SFYTT

Reverse Confetti's January Sketch For You To Try (SFYTT) challenge is winding down in a few days, so if you haven't played along yet, please consider joining in the fun! A little something there for all styles, I think! Here's my take on it:

I put together the pears from Foodie Fun with papers from the True Love paper collection. I thought the play on "pair" called for two pears, so I cut a second one from some vellum card stock. Since large portions of it are behind the stamped pear or sentiment strip, it was easy to hide the adhesive. For the angled strip, I used a narrow strip of another True Love pattern. The white-type-on-black-background pattern was a instant favorite for me.

The rectangular frame is from All Framed Up. I die-cut from both Cloud White card stock and Piggy Bank card stock for some added contrast.

Happy 4U

Here's a card using a lot of fun little bits from Jillibean Soup. I put together a little sentiment cluster using a wood veneer "happy," a "4" sticker on a tiny jewelry tag, and a kraft Alhpa Tile for the letter "U." There's also a heart die-cut back there and some adhesive sequins. Patterned papers are from the Hardy Hodgepodge collection.
