Papertrey Ink October Release - Winter Window

It's Day Four of Papertrey Ink's October Release countdown. Welcome! I'm excited to help introduce WINTER WINDOW stamps and dies today.

You can find all the details about these new products HERE.

The October Release products will be available at 10 pm October 15 in the Papertrey Ink store.

WINTER WINDOW stamps and dies by Lizzie Jones contain all sorts of different dies and images to create winter and Christmas window scenes: falling snow, a tree, deer, holiday swag, candle, etc.

I wanted to create a nighttime scene outside the window, so I ink blended a night sky, stamped some falling snow, and flecked with shimmer spritz. I added the tree to the left and then thought it would be fun to add Santa's sleigh using an image from Betsy Veldman's FAIRY TALE CHRISTMAS collection. (The Santa sleigh in PETITE PLACES: HOLIDAY LANE that should fit, too, if you have that.)

The sentiment diecut is from last month's BOLD BORDERS: YULETIDE, and my snowflake backdrop was done with this month's BOLD BORDERS: FLURRIES. I really wanted to make a shiplap background around the window, but it wasn't turning out quite like I envisioned, so that may come another day.

I thought the card needed a little sparkle, so I added some silver glass glitter to the window perimeter.  It's quite sparkly in real life, and breaks up all the white in the background.

Normally, I try to use realistic colors but your gorgeous window card shows that thinking outside the box is better. You choose an all white border for the inside of the house and the snowy scene outside to be brightly colored. What an impact this makes!

Good Saturday morning! I hope you can create your shiplap but nevertheless, I LOVE your border!! And Santa and the beautiful glass glitter! (Yay, I have some of that on hand!). The last touch I love is the sentiment! A colorful word die that expresses the card so well! Beautiful work Amy!
