Countdown to Confetti: Cast A Spell and Give Thanks

Welcome to Day Three of REVERSE CONFETTI's Countdown to Confetti. All new stamps and dies will be available at midnight! Join us again tomorrow for a celebratory blog hop. In the meantime, head over to the Reverse Confetti blog for links to all the designers posting today, as well as details on how you can win one of two Reverse Confetti giveaways.

Today we're featuring two new sets, and I have two projects to share, so be sure to stick with me 'til the end! First up is GIVE THANKS. Here's where that gorgeous double-line frame that I used yesterday comes from. And matching label dies - YES!

For my card, I've gone minimalist again. Inspiration comes from the current Curtain Call Lovely Leaves Challenge (and from Gayatri's lovely sample card last week).

I cut the leaf sprig with my Silhouette, then sponged on Distress Inks in the colors from the inspiration photo. The background is a soft gray watercolor wash, concentrated in the lower left corner. GIVE THANKS is full of fabulous fall sentiments in a font combo that is both sophisticated and a little bit playful. Sequins and a bit of torn vellum peeking out added just a little pizzazz.

Next up is CAST A SPELL, a primarily Halloween set with some serious witchy appeal -- broomsticks, cauldrons, ravens, oh my! I love Halloween cards, but I also love versatility and getting lots of mileage out of my stamp sets. So here's a non-Halloween way to use CAST A SPELL

I started with a watercolor wash background in pink, orange, and yellow, then sprinkled on some tiny card stock white stars (the leftovers from the new PRETTY PANELS STARS CONFETTI CUTS die. The sentiment is heat embossed in white on vellum and cut with the smaller of the two TAG ME CONFETTI CUTS dies. For a little shimmer, I painted the tiny stars with a clear Wink of Stella pen, adhered a loop of sparkly silver thread using a few small dabs of matte multi medium, and added a few Pretty Pink Posh silver star sequins.

I'm linking this up to the current Color Throwdown Challenge #308:

Remember to check out the Reverse Confetti blog for more inspiration using these two new stamp sets and all the September dies!
