Sweet Inspirations

Have you been keeping up with Papertrey's July release peeks and countdown so far? I'm super excited about the amazing collection of products this month! Today is the first of our three big group posts, and we are highlighting some of the sweetest products ever. Betsy Veldman is adding a Sweet Shoppe to her Tiny Town collection, and just wait until you see all the adorable ideas! Erin Lincoln has designed a set called Colorful Treats with some fabulous line art images, solid companion images for non-coloring options, and some really unique sentiments. Fitting right in with the theme is a new Awning cover plate.

All of the new products will be available at 10 pm ET on July 15 in the Papertrey Ink store.

So how darling are the Tiny Town: Sweet Shoppe accessories? Begin by assembling your building using the Tiny Town: Basics die, then transform it into a sweet shoppe using the Tiny Town: Sweet Shoppe dies, which include the awning, stripes, sign, door, and window details.

I began with a Berry Sorbet building, then added the details in white, Green Parakeet, and Harvest Gold. The window box flowers are colored with Copics. The little cupcake on the sign is from the Sweet Shoppe Sentiments stamp set. I also stamped "Sweet Shoppe" above the door using an image from Petite Places: Sweet Shoppe. (Remember to do any stamping before assembly -- mine was an afterthought, and thus the stamping was a little shaky.)

These would make cute gift boxes, candy boxes, package toppers, or make one just for display.

My Sweet Shoppe holds this darling ceramic cupcake trinket box that has a cupcake necklace inside. A perfect young girl gift!

Ink: Fresh Snow, Berry Sorbet

Paper: white, Berry Sorbet, Green Parakeet, and Harvest Gold card stock

Other: True Black baker's twine, Copic markers

I'm loving the line art illustrations in Erin's Colorful Treats set! I stamped the cupcakes onto watercolor paper and loosely watercolored them with ink in colors to match my Sweet Shoppe treat box. I added some metallic silver to the wrappers using Gansai Tambi watercolors.

Along the top is an awning that I fashioned out of some of the smaller pieces in the Cover Plate: Awning set. There's much more to this cover plate -- this is just one way to use the awning layers separately. The sentiment is stamped onto a Jar Labels 2 die-cut. The black polka-dot background paper is from the Black and White All Over Paper Collection.

The main panel is layered onto a Pretty Frame white die-cut. Normally I'd layer the frame on top, but I like how it looks layered behind, too!
