Reverse Confetti January Release Blog Hop

Reverse Confetti's January release is now available, and the Confetti Crew is celebrating with a new release blog hop. So glad you're here!

I have two projects to share today, beginning with the adorable Foodie Fun stamp set. 

I used my Misti to get the gradient effect on the Foodie Fun beet and beet leaves. The white panel was die-cut with the new Tall Stripe Panel Confetti Cuts.

At the top, I used a mini paperclip to secure an word die-cut, which I cut with a XOXO Hearts Confetti Cuts die. The patterned papers are all from Reverse Confetti's True Love 6x6 collection.

And next is one of the adorable Goodie Box mini packages. These are so cute and assemble very quickly. I used the Goodie Box Additions Confetti Cuts to make the window opening in the front.

I clipped together the two longer flaps and added a tag, also from Goodie Box Additions. The stenciled "love" on the tag was done by using a Love You More Tag Layer Confetti Cuts die-cut as a stencil.

Along the bottom, I wrapped two of the heart border die-cuts from the XOXO Hearts Confetti Cuts set, and tied on some Charcoal striped twine.

Countdown to Confetti - My Rock

Today is Reverse Confetti's third and final countdown day for the January release. We've saved our newest faith-based set, My Rock, for today. I hope you like!

The card base is another watercolor layering experiment, this time in mossy greens, deep blues, and a bit of light gray. 

The My Rock quote is heat embossed in gold. I have to say the Mother Teresa attribution is easier to read in real life than in the photo. The rest of the quote was heat embossed twice, which I had hoped would help it stand out more, but instead made it a little more difficult to read. I couldn't bear to trash this, though, and I think you *can* still read it. I just wouldn't heat emboss twice if I had a do-over!

I die-cut the new Cross Confetti Cuts from vellum and the flower from watercolor paper, layered them together and topped with gold cord and a large aquamarine gemstone, then popped up the whole thing with some foam tape for dimension. Final touches: some green satin sequins and a touch of gold splatter.

Countdown to Confetti - Crazy About You & Foodie Fun

Welcome to Day Two of Reverse Confetti's January release countdown. Today we are taking a look at two new stamp sets: Crazy About You and Foodie Fun.

I'll have a Foodie Fun project to share later in the week. For today, I've chosen to feature Crazy About You.

I started my card with some layered watercolor stripes in shades in pinks and yellows, then stamped a combination of Crazy About You sentiments in black. 

The stitched heart is from the XOXO Hearts Confetti Cuts set. The die includes a stitched line through the middle of the heart. I added some actual hand stitching over that, as well as some stitching along the left and right borders. The panel is mounted to a Stone card base with foam tape.

Countdown to Confetti - Cured

Welcome to Day One of Reverse Confetti's January release countdown!

So, are these little piggies just so darn cute, or what?! Their little expressions -- GAH!

I stamped, die-cut, and colored my individual pieces, then arranged them onto a pink and green blended and splattered background that I've had in my stash for a while.

There are two banners, the stamped/embossed one was done with one of the images in Cured, and the other was done with the new Heart Banners Confetti Cuts dies.

The pink stripe pattern, as well as the plaid you see bordering the main panel, are both from the new True Love 6x6 paper collection.

The Hills Series Revisited

Happy New Year, friends! Wishing each of you the very best for 2017!

Today the Papertrey Ink Senior Design team is sharing its monthly Revisited feature, and the focus is on The Hills Series (Winter Hills, Spring Hills, Summer Hills, and Autumn Hills). The Revisited feature is a chance to give some new love to an older set or sets. I'm excited to participate with the senior designers this month, and since all four sets were released before I joined the Papertrey team, they're all brand-new to me! 

The Hills sets are each so charming, and both the images and sentiments have a sweet, folk art look and feel. I chose to work with Winter Hills and Spring Hills.

For my first project, I've given Winter Hills a fresh look by placing the house on a trendy watercolored background. I did my watercoloring with Papertrey re-inkers in a loose fashion, then added some Enchanted Evening splatter as well as some opaque white splatter.

I colored the house with Copics, fussy cut it, and popped it up with foam tape. The snowflakes, all from What the Doodle: Snowflake, work nicely with the line art images in Winter Hills. I white embossed them on vellum, which gives the scene a frosty look. A liberal sprinkling of silver sequins adds some sparkle for that finishing touch.

My next project features Spring Hills. This time, I wanted to stay true to the homespun charm of the folk art imagery, while incorporating some of today's trends (watercoloring, ink blending, and background stamping).

Nothing beats the rustic warmth of kraft card stock! One of the first stamping "techniques" I ever learned was to use the focal image to cover a background. I'm loving the come-back that technique is having currently. Here, I've repeatedly stamped the focal image in white all over the background. I think the block look of this particular image hints at quilt blocks, which contributes to the overall homespun feel.

My focal image is watercolored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. Behind the focal image are some ink blended Branching Out branches, as well as a pair of flowers I retrieved from my spare parts bin. These are both from Paper Clippings: Done In Love.
