Countdown to Confetti - The Lord's Strength

It's the third and final day of Reverse Confetti's February release countdown. Today's featured stamp set is called The Lord's Strength, the third set in the series of faith-based sets that also includes God is Good and Walk By Faith.

I started today's card with a vibrant pink and yellow-gold watercolor background. Onto that panel, I added three white Swirlies die-cuts (these are so fun!). Each Swirlie is embellished with a flower cluster made of Garden Bunch stamped and die-cut flowers, watercolored Leafy die-cuts, and extra stems and flowers from Layered Laurels and Flower Wrap.

I stamped the sentiment on dark gray card stock, embossed in white, and cut into strips. I mounted everything to a white panel, allowing the bright colors to really stand out.

Introducing Dress Up Dolls

Welcome to Day Two of Papertrey's 9th anniversary celebration and new product release. Lots of fun announcements today over on Nichole's blog, so be sure to check those out!

Our first product announcement for this release is a new monthly series by Betsy Veldman called Dress Up Dolls. How sweet and special these are! This month we start off with Dress Up Dolls: Basics (boy doll, girl doll, hair options, basic clothing options, and more) as well as Dress Up Dolls: Easter.

The Dress Up Dolls products, along with all of the February release, will be available at 10 pm EST February 15 in the Papertrey Ink store.

In addition to the stamps and dies, magnet sheets and metal CD tins will also be available. The CD tins make darling storage tins for your paper doll collection. I've created a personalized doll set for today. It features bg gthe sweet girl doll on the front of the case. Everything is magnetic, so she and her accessories can all easily move inside the tin, too.

I stamped the Dress Up Dolls: Basics images onto White Adhesive Sheets, colored with Copics and Prismacolor pencils, and then die-cut using the Dress Up Dolls: Basics dies. 

I covered the front of the tin with some Confetti Toss Patterned Paper and some yellow Chicken Scratch Gingham Patterned Paper. The Sweet Blush Saddle Stitch Ribbon band easily slips off to open the case.

I used the Bookprint Alphabet dies to personalize the tin with the recipient's name. 

On the inside of the tin, there is room to store lots of extra clothes and accessories, as well as room to create a scene for the dolls. 

On the left side, I stamped some grass using an image from Garden Variety, stamped clothesline poles using images from Quilted: Summer), and lightly sponged an Aqua Mist sky. The extra clothes "hang" from the Raspberry Fizz Baker's Twine clothesline, the shoes are lined up below, and above the clothesline are some extra hair bows and hair styles. 

On the right side is where I arranged the two dolls, dressed them, and gave them some accessories. 

The pinwheel is from Quilted: Summer, and the flowers and hearts are from the Valentine Pin-Ups Make-It Market Mini Kit. I used the Blue Skies Cover Plate to die-cut the cloud panel on the right side.

As always, Betsy charms us with the details. I'm especially loving the "sweet heart" and "cool" typography on the t-shirt fronts!

All surfaces are magnetic, so the pieces stick anywhere.

Even the letters are magnetic, so that when the dolls are both inside the tin, the letters can be rearranged on the front.

This is going to be a super fun series. I'm excited to see what's coming next!

Countdown to Confetti - Hippity Hoppity

My project features the sweet boy bunny from Hippity Hoppity. The basket he stands in was done with the new Basket Confetti Cuts die-cut. I love this die set! Here, I've cut the basket layers out of watercolor paper and watercolored it gray to give it the look of a fabric-lined wire basket. The handle is separate, so you can attach it up or down. 

I added a little rope accent on the handle by wrapping it with a little bit of linen thread. The sentiment is stamped on a slight curve to fit the contour of the basket liner. In the background is a loosely watercolored sky and ground, a few flowers, and some clouds in the sky.

I love this little fellow! He has such a sweet innocence about him -- just darling!

Papertrey Favorites

This month, Papertrey celebrates its 9th anniversary. That's a lot of years of well-deserved success and industry-wide inspiration. Congratulations to all who have been part of that legacy!

I joined the Papertrey team exactly a year ago during the 8th anniversary release. It has been quite an adventure! I'm so blessed to do what I love, to do it with such fantastic products, and to do it alongside such amazing, creative, and generous teammates. 

For today, each of us was asked to pick out a favorite card from the past year that uses a favorite color combination. I've long been drawn to soft color palettes, my happy colors are any variation of blues and greens, and I'm mildly obsessed with all things gray, so my choice was easy:

This card features so many of my favorite things: the colors (of course), the soft watercolor wash background (I used Aqua Mist and Mint Julep re-inkers), ink splattering, a clustered design, layers, the word die-cut, vellum, and machine stitching, And True Black baker's twine. I need a subscription plan for that stuff!

Countdown to Confetti - Garden Bunch and A Friend Like You

Welcome to Day One of Reverse Confetti's Countdown to the February release! The February release has four new stamp sets and a bunch of new Confetti Cuts die sets, as well as February's limited edition Quick Card Panels -- Hoppin' Dots. Today we're focusing on the Garden Bunch and A Friend Like You. stamp sets, along with coordinating dies.

This release is one of my favorites to date! Who doesn't love a really good floral set? And Garden Bunch delivers! Lots of flower styles and sizes to choose from in this multi-step set, and a variety of image layering options. You can stamp just the base layer and center or add the optional watercolor layer and/or the optional details image.

There are a couple of Confetti Cuts sets perfect for your flower bouquets  -- Floral Wrap, which I've used here, and Basket, which you can see on other design team blogs today.

I love the Floral Wrap die set -- it gives you that fresh-from-the-market look. It comes with some really darling extras as well: two flower sprigs, which are fun to tuck in between the flowers, and a sweet tiny tag to hang from your bouquet.

For a sentiment, I used a combination of A Friend Like You stamped strips and a friend die-cut from the previously released Fancy Words Confetti Cuts set. The green polka-dot Gift Card Holder Tag was done with one of the Hoppin' Dots Quick Card Panels. The tag is topped with a hanger that I die-cut using the Hang Ups Confetti Cuts dies. And last, I tied some Maraschino Solid Twine around the floral wrap.
