September Card Kitchen, Part 2

More cards from the September Card Kitchen kit ...

Sweet
I made an ice cream cone out of a partial circle and a triangle, then backed the ice cream part with a partial kraft doily.

Sending Hugs
The super simple layout that lets the gorgeous chevron pattern show.

Welcome Little One
One of the Modern Mercantile 12x12 papers is a grid of nine 4x4" patterns. I strategically cut my card base for a no-fuss color block effect. The stitching across the seams helped create a quilt effect - appropriate for the baby sentiment.

Well Done
With all the "stuff" in the crafter's toolbox these days, it's kind of refreshing to go back to basic punched shapes. I loved working with the Jenni Bowlin Studios perforated stamp paper in this kit - so cool!

World Gratitude Day Blog Hop

Fall is finally upon us and REVERSE CONFETTI is celebrating the change of seasons along with a little known holiday. Did you know that today is World Gratitude Day? World Gratitude Day is your opportunity to show your gratitude and appreciation for anything or anyone in your life with meaningful actions. To get you in the spirit of gratitude, the CONFETTI CREW has put together some fabulous creations with a “fall-ish flair” and a special “Gratitude Blog Hop”.

The hop started over on the Reverse Confetti blog, and you should have made it here from Amy Kolling’s blog. We hope you take a few minutes to enjoy what we’ve put together. We want the gratitude to be contagious enough to inspire you to get creative and make something for someone you appreciate!
For my card, I started out with a number collage cut file that I've had in my Silhouette library forever. The sentiment is done with a combination of COUNT YOUR RAINBOWS and LIGHTHEARTED LETTERS. I added two acorns from FOREVER FALL and a few other fall accents to finish off the sentiment cluster.

My color inspiration came from this gorgeous photo:

We truly appreciate you hopping along with us.  In fact, to show our appreciation, we are giving away a $15 gift certificate to REVERSE CONFETTI to one lucky hopper! Just leave a comment at each stop along the way to be entered to win!  You have until Monday, September 23 at noon CST. Jen will announce the winner on the Time for a Card Tuesday post on the Reverse Confetti blog on the 24. September Card Kitchen, Part 1

Just popping in to share some of my September Card Kitchen cards. This month's kit features gorgeous papers from the Modern Mercantile line by Jenni Bowlin Studios.

Blessings
On this first card, I cut apart a 4x4 chevron pattern and hand-stitched the different pieces to a neutral background. The two feather accents were cut from a 12x12 pattern.

Hi Sunshine
The sun is made from a partial circle punch backed with simple fishtail banner pieces. I loved working with the three Maya Road Kraft doilies that were included this kit. I cut them down to get even more mileage out of them.

My Heart Beats Only For You
One of the leftover zigzag pieces from the first card kind of reminded me of a heart rate monitor, so I added a heart die-cut and created a custom sentiment to go along with it. "My heart beats only" is handwritten on the Jenni Bowlin perforated stamp paper and then I completed the sentiment with alpha stickers from the kit.

Best Wishes
Super simple card here, lots of negative space to show off that gorgeous feather pattern.

I'll share the rest next time! Happy Thursday!

Spooky Cuties Treat Sacks

I can't believe it's been so long since I posted! Now that we've traded back-to-school madness for a more settled-in routine, I'm finding more and more time for creativity and fun projects. Last weekend, I finally re-painted my dining room, a key part of a refresh/update I've been {not} working on since Spring. I've started bringing out some of the Fall and Halloween decorations, too. I don't usually go super crazy decorating for fall, just a few vignettes here and there. What about you? Whole hog, not at all, or somewhere in the middle?

I have a crafty Reverse Confetti project to share today: mini treat sacks. They were so fun to put together! I started with an orange and black pair of chevron mini paper bags (I got mine from i{heart}papers last fall) and the new SPOOKY CUTIES and SPOOKY SENTIMENTS sets from Reverse Confetti.

Lots of little stamping details: the background piece has been stamped with a sweet little bat border from SPOOKY CUTIES  The circles were stamped first with a polka dot background (from WHOLE LOTTA DOTS) and then accented with a black striped line.

The bat and boots were stamped, heat embossed, trimmed out and popped up. And last I added the fun sentiments from SPOOKY SENTIMENTS. The little bags are 2.75" x 4", the perfect size for a sweet treat. (Confession: I ate all the pumpkin-shaped peppermint patties that were supposed to go in these sacks. PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one who does that! Let's just hope I remember to fill these properly before handing them out. Can you imagine getting a treat sack filled with paper shred?)

StampsSPOOKY CUTIES SPOOKY SENTIMENTS, and WHOLE LOTTA DOTS (Reverse Confetti)

Paper: rustic white, kraft, lime green and orange card stocks

Ink: white and black pigment ink, tan kraft ink

Accessories: orange and black chevron itty bitty bags, corner rounder, circle punch,
button die, baker's twine, jute cord, button, wide striped ribbon, pop dots,
clear embossing powder and heat tool

Hope you have a fantastic day!

Reverse Confetti: September Release Blog Hop

We’ve been counting down the days, and it’s finally here—a new release from REVERSE CONFETTI!  It’s the 8th of the month (Reverse Confetti blog hop day) and this time we are looking forward to those fall days and the spooky treats that come our way for Halloween.  Come and hop along with the Confetti Crew as we share some creative ideas using September’s five new trendy stamp sets.  Along with the Confetti Crew (our fabulous design team), we’ve also invited some extra friends to join in on the action!

The hop started over on the Reverse Confetti blog, and you should have made it here from Amy Rohl’s blog. It would be worth your while to start at the beginning of the hop, so you don’t miss a thing. We have tons of inspiration for you to see using all the new Reverse Confetti stamp sets!

For my project, I created a personalized fall favor box using the new LIGHTHEARTED LETTERS and FOREVER FALL sets. Such a quick little project, perfect for making multiples. The pillow box and leaf were cut with my Silhouette, the acorns stamped and trimmed, and the letters stamped individually, then punched with a 1/2-inch circle punch. You could use this same belly band design around a napkin to make a cute Thanksgiving place setting instead!

I hope you’ve enjoyed hopping with us today. Be sure and hop with us on the 8th of EVERY MONTH for more REVERSE CONFETTI inspiration! Now it’s time to hop on over to Dawn Easton’s blog. If you get lost along the way, you can find the hop order and list of all the participating designers over on the Reverse Confetti blog

A few things before you hop along though, just to keep you “in the know”…

Here's a closer look:

I heat-embossed the sentiment using an aged ivory embossing enamel. You can kind of see some of the "flecks"in it. The woodgrain heart? yep, I'm pretty much smitten with that image!
