Reverse Confetti August Creative Hop

Welcome to Reverse Confetti's August blog hop. Here we are in the dog days of summer, so what better hop theme than Summer ABC (anything but a card)? Hope you'll join us today for some sizzling and sensational project ideas!

For the full hop order, as well as a chance to win a $15 Reverse Confetti gift certificate, head over to the Reverse Confetti blog. If you're making your way along the hop, you should have arrived here from Amy Tsuruta. When you're finished here, you'll head next to Leigh Penner (I'll link again at the end).

I scratched my head for a project idea for a few mojo-less days, but just couldn't get excited about anything. And then this idea to make a pineapple treat holder came to mind. That was something I could get excited about!

I started with two Tag Me, Too die-cuts, then added a rectangular base piece for a bottom. For a bit of added interest, I adhered a Geometric Background layer to the tags.

The fronds are made out of four green Tassel die-cuts. I folded the first one in half, and then sandwiched the next one around the first, positioning it a little lower. The third and fourth tassels are added in the same way, each positioned a little lower. Last, I gently curved and twisted the individual strands to resemble pineapple fronds.

Here's a look during the frond assembly (sorry for the poor, low-light cell phone photo!):

Note: If you have the Tagged Tote die set, you could use that for the pineapple base too. I preferred the shapeliness of the Tag Me Too die-cut (thank you, Jen, for the suggestion!), but I did try out both and they're both cute!

The tag is die-cut using the small tag die in the Tag Me Confetti Cuts set and is stamped using sentiments from Sweet Thing.

For a coordinating card, I naturally reached for the Pineapples Aplenty stamps and coordinating Pineapples Aplenty Confetti Cuts dies.

Though my card design is somewhat clean and simple, I've still managed to work in some enamel dots, a split panel, vellum, patterned paper, a doily, and some ink blending on the card base.

At the top I tied on some white linen thread and clipped on a mini clothespin just for fun.

INK:  Papertrey Simply Chartreuse, Harvest Gold, Berry Sorbet, Aqua Mist; Memento Tuxedo Black

PAPER: yellow, gold, green, and white card stock; Crate Paper Flea Market 6x6 collection

OTHER: button, enamel dots, white linen thread, vellum, mini clothespin

That's it for me today. Your next stop on the hop is the super talented Leigh Penner!

Enjoy the hop!
