Welcome to Day 4 of Papertrey Ink's September holiday release countdown. Today we are featuring Winter Village, a set filled with vintage holiday scene imagery, Christmas Critters, an adorable take on the Christmas mouse, and Christmas Critters Sentiments.
All of the new products will be available at 10 pm ET on September 15 in the Papertrey Ink store.
Nichole asked us to think back to our holiday memories and share both the memories and how those memories can inspire our Christmas projects. One of my favorite Christmas traditions was when my dad would read The Night Before Christmas every Christmas Eve. I don't recall him reading to us on many other occasions (my mom did a lot, though), which surely made the Christmas Eve readings more special. My dad could be very theatrical and animated (he still is sometimes!), so the part "I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter" was always especially fun!
When I first became a mom, my mother loaned me the old family pop-up The Night Before Christmas under strict orders that I take good care of it and return it. It's a 1967 Random House edition, like the one pictured below.

are posted, too if your'e interested)
I wouldn't be surprised if my mom has this book listed in her will! (She's very sentimental and a collector of antiques and other old things.)
My The Night Before Christmas memories inspired me to make a Winter Village scene. Inside that charming house, I imagine children hanging their stockings, setting out cookies and milk for Santa, and curling up with dad for a The Night Before Christmas reading.

My next card goes with the Night Before Christmas theme, too, thanks to the sentiment, which is from Christmas Critters Sentiments! Are those Christmas Critters mice just so adorable or what?
I went with a super clean and simple design to let those mice really steal the show.
These mice also remind me of walnut shell mice ornaments. My mom made a few of these when I was a kid, and I remember thinking they were the cutest and most clever things ever! She was forever and always making things, never more so than during the Christmas season.

Sweet looks and memories!
Love the memories! Beautiful designs and those mice are just so sweet. They remind me of the collection we used to buy for my mom each "occassion" for my childhood years, until her shelves got full.
Adorable cards and I enjoyed hearing of your Christmas memories!
Lovely Christmas scene - so retro! :)
Your cards are lovely! That first one just knocks my socks off!
Beautiful cards and wonderful memories! Thanks for sharing! :)
Such perfectly lovely details, everywhere I look. Ack! Plus now I need that Delightful cover plate. :(
I'm always so happy to see your PTI designs Amy - wonderful village scene and love the little mice! Julia xx
Love your winter scene card. My Mom always painted a winter scene on a mirror on our living room every year...looks just like those scenes from long ago!
Beautiful card, I love the dimension, shading and attention to layered details on your first card. It's a work of art!
Just in love with your sweet cards this morning! And the sweet memories. Your card with the felt heart won my heart yesterday, and I used it to muse. Thank you for the inspiration!
Hi Amy,
A STUNNING and a STINKING CUTE card,what a combo!

I love seeing your projects each month. The Village and Mice are gorgeous in your very capable hands. Love both cards.
Your village scene is stunning! I have passed on the Delightful die previously but now I *need* it thanks to you! :-) I have to ask, how did you get the line between the snow and sky so perfect? Did you mask the snow area off and then do your ink blending or I did you use a die?
Your little mice are also so very sweet! Hate mice IRL, but these little cuties might be worming their way into my heart.
Linda
