Introducing Lucky Break

Welcome to Day 2 of Papertrey's August release countdown. I'm excited to share some projects that I made with a new set by Lizzie Jones called Lucky Break. This is such a fun little set!

All of the new products will be available at 10 pm ET on August 15 in the Papertrey Ink store.

Lucky Break features a wish bone image as well as several related sentiments. There is also a coordinating Lucky Break die for the wish bone.

I had fun with some layering on my first card. The gold embossed Lucky Break wish bone is layered onto a leafy die-cut from Kay Miller's new Stylized Autumn stamp set. I repeated that image on the card base for extra color.

The main panel is die-cut with one of the Noted: Scalloped A2 dies for that stitched border, then mounted onto a panel of new Saffron Spice card stock color. I'm really loving this new color! It pairs nicely with so many of the other Papertrey colors. I especially like it with Smokey Shadow, which I used for my card base.

I'm also loving the gold embossed and embellished wish bone. I think these would make pretty tag focal points too. Or they would look pretty as napkin rings, too.

Stamps: Lucky Break, Stylized Autumn

Dies: Noted: Scalloped A2Lucky Break, Stylized Autumn

Ink: Versamark, Spring Moss, Canyon Clay

Paper: white, Saffron Spice, Smokey Shadow

Other: True Black baker's twine, enamel dots, foam adhesive

For this next card, I used the wish bone image to stamp a background pattern in Aqua Mist and Ocean Tides. A stamp positioning tool really helps with this!

I added an embellished sentiment strip to the bottom right corner for a simple, clean design.

Dies: Stylized Autumn

Ink: Aqua Mist, Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado, Ocean Tides

Paper: White, Soft Stone, Smokey Shadow

Other: white thread, white embossing powder

Last up is a quirky, fun card featuring Lucky Break and Give Me A Hand. My original idea was to have two hands pulling on the wish bone, but when I saw the Keep It Simple: From All of Us sentiment, I had the idea to add a whole bunch of hands and make it a group card.

In my mind, the hands are not meant to be pulling on the wish bone, but that does sort of beg the question what ARE they doing then? Maybe giving a token of luck? It actually looks more like the laying of hands than anything!

I don't have the dies for Give Me A Hand (yet), so the hands are all fussy cut. The wish bone is die-cut with the Lucky Break die. With some creative masking, you could definitely pull something like this off as a one-layer card.

Stamps: Lucky BreakGive Me A Hand

Dies: Lucky Break

Ink: Sweet Blush, Melon Berry, Fine Linen, Classic Kraft, Saffron Spice, Cocoa Bean, Limeade Ice, Tropical Teal, Summer Sunrise, Hibiscus Burst, Real Red, Aqua Mist, True Black

Paper: white card stock

Other: corner rounder

Amy,

All three cards are great, but my absolute favorite is the hands one. This stamp set wasn't even on my radar until I saw that card and immediately decided to order the stamp set and die. It's the perfect card to wish coworkers and friends the best when they move to another job, out of state, etc....
