I've needed quite a few sympathy cards in the past few weeks, so the new Forever In Our Hearts stamp set has been especially welcome in my collection. Some of the sentiments in this set work well for general encouragement and pick-me-up cards, too.
For this card, I started by watercoloring soft putty-colored stripes onto watercolor paper. Then I stamped the sentiment, added the floral accents, stitched the edges and adhered to a light gray card base. It has just the look and feel I was going for -- some kind of cross between dark and light, somber and serene.
Stamps: Forever In Our Hearts
Confetti Cuts Dies: Leafy, Rose Garden, Flower Wrap, Heart to Heart
Ink: Pumice Stone Distress Ink; Versafine Onyx Black
Paper: PTI Soft Stone, White, Pinefeather, Smokey Shadow, and Ripe Avocado card stock; watercolor paper
Other: flat watercolor brush, satin sequins, sewing machine
Next is the super sweet In A Jam and Jam Jar Confetti Cuts. I love these! I added the spoon die-cut, which is from the previously released Love & Ice Cream Confetti Cuts, and the teeny heart tag, which is from the previously released Flower Wrap Confetti Cuts.
The pretty papers are all from an older 6x6 Simple Stories collection called Homespun.
Stamps: In A Jam
Confetti Cuts Dies: Jam Jar, Flower Wrap, Love & Ice Cream, Edge Essentials
Ink: Hero Arts Field Greens
Paper: PTI Rustic White and Kraft card stock; Simple Stories Homespun 6x6 collection
Other: foam adhesive, just twine
