Introducing What the Doodle, Keep It Simple, and Frames

Welome to Day Four of Papertrey's Ninth Anniversary celebration!

Today, we are featuring several new products, including a new series by Betsy Veldman called What the Doodle. Think adult coloring pages for cards! The popular Keep It Simple line continues into this year, with two new sentiments being released this month: Easter and St. Patrick's Day. Along with those products are two beautiful new frame dies, Pretty Frame and Scroll Frame, by Erin Lincoln.

[Updated to add: I forgot to include Be by Heather Nichols, which is surprising because I used it to decorate my Bible verse in my planner last week, and have been anxiously waiting to share! Look for that and some other planner goodies later in the week!]

These, and all of the February release products will be available in the Papertrey Ink store at 10 pm EST on February 15.

I didn't set out to specifically use something from each of those product groups on today's card, but it worked out that, so yay, I get to show you all three!

What I did set out to create was a birthday card for a friend whose birthday falls on St. Patrick's Day. She loves everything about sharing her birthday with the holiday, so I went all-out with the green. I used only a handful of green Copic markers to color one of the What the Doodle: Butterfly papers, then used Maile's Sentiment Splits: Angle Vertical dies to cut the diagonal panels. Both top and bottom panels are mounted on foam tape for dimension, and the sentiment is stamped, two-toned, in the space between. I accented with a few gold sequins and some True Black baker's twine. The colored panel is the star here!

On the inside, I custom-stamped a St. Patrick's Day birthday sentiment by combining some different Keep It Simple sets (Birthday II, St. Patrick's Day, and Baby), along with the Birthday Cheer set. The "and" image is from Phrases & Praises. Around the sentiment is Erin's Pretty Frame Cover Plate. I cut three of them, white, Pinefeather, and Mint Julep, then inlaid them back together on the Pinefeather card base.

I think the recipient is going to love this, and I can't wait until it's time to mail it!

This is so perfect I thought it was designer paper! I went back to the blog to see what I missed. I realized you colored it! WOW! Stunning as always, Amy!

Inspirational, as always, Amy. I thought the same thing as Betty, that the St. Pats' card was made with DSP. Such perfection!
