Holiday Style

Welcome to Day Five of Papertrey Ink's October release countdown. Thank you so much for your heartwarming comments these past couple of days!

Today, we are showcasing two modern and trendy stamp sets: Wet Paint Holiday Tags and Star Scribbles

Today's featured products, along with the rest of the October release, will be available at 10 pm EST October 15 in the Papertrey Ink store.

I am usually a planner-outer when it comes to card designs, and almost always work from a sketched idea. Not so with these two sets. They lend themselves beautifully to a more go-with-the-flow approach, which is so liberating and fun! I love the results of my "let's see what happens" time in the studio, too!

For my card, I stamped the Wet Paint Holiday Tags circle sentiments as ornaments and "hung" them from some machine stitched lines (metallic thread with the curlicue ends, of course). I added some stamped silver stars (from Star Scribbles) and tiny bits of stamped splatter (Wet Paint Holiday Tags), as well as some clear sequins and tiny silver flat-back pearls. I love the bright, festive look!

I trimmed down the white panel and mounted it to a Vintage Jadeite card base, adding a narrow strip of striped Vintage Jadeite + White Basics paper as a border.

The tag pair was die-cut with Maile Belles' Folded Tags dies. What a great tag design with that little peek-a-boo area along the bottom! I stamped the front layer with Star Scribbles and Wet Paint Holiday Tags images, then added die-cut sentiments, done in Pure Poppy card stock with Wet Paint Holiday Tags dies.

Along the base of the tag insides is a touch of Vintage Jadeite + White Basics Paper. "To" and "From" as well as "this one's from Santa" are all from Wet Paint Holiday Tags.

Stamps: Wet Paint Holiday Tags, Star Scribbles

Dies: Wet Paint Holiday Tags, Folded Tags

Ink: Pure Poppy, Hibiscus Burst, Tropical Teal, Encore metallic silver

Paper: white and Vintage Jadeite card stock, Vintage Jadeite + White Basics paper collection

Other: True Black baker's twine, clear sequins, silver flat-back pearls, metallic thread, sewing machine

Love where it took you, Amy. I'm so stealing your idea of ink blending on the tops of the tags!
