Countdown to Confetti: Boo Yea & Frightening Friends

Hi there! September is a release month at Reverse Confetti! Join us today through Friday for our Countdown to Confetti, and again on Saturday for our New Release Hop. The September release includes seven stamp sets, nine Confetti Cuts, and one 6x6 paper pad. Today we are featuring BOO YEA and FRIGHTENING FRIENDS. Sooooo cute!

All of the new products will be available for purchase at midnight ET on the 8th.

I have two different project ideas to share today. The first is a card with the adorable Halloween images from FRIGHTENING FRIENDS:

I wanted to incorporate as many of the images as possible, so I created a sightly wider and shorter than usual horizontal card.

Frankie, the devil, and the ghost are all from FRIGHTENING FRIENDS, as are the trees, jack-o-lantern, fence, clouds and moon.

I added the skull garland from the previously released TOO CUTE TO SPOOK and the mummy from BEST WITCHES to complete my scene.

Next up are some treat sacks that feature sentiments from BOO YEA as well as a new die set: BAG & TAGS CREATOR CONFETTI CUTS

BOO YEA is a collection of Halloween-themed circle sentiments. BAG & TAGS CREATOR CONFETTI CUTS is an adaptable die set for making sacks and bags. Included are one die for the main panel (cut two per bag), a stitched rectangle window die, one circle tag and two circle layers.

I decided to make flat sacks by adhering the front and back along three sides using Scor-Tape. They'll hold something flat, like a gift card, or a small (and not too bulky) treat, such as a peppermint patty, Ghirardelli square, etc.

I wanted to add a little texture to the sacks, and I did that with two new cover panels, CRISS CROSS and TRIANGLES, and the previously released STITCHED RAYS COVER PANEL. (I layered the bag die-cuts that were also cut with a cover panel to a plain bag die-cut so that the triangles and X's wouldn't fall out.) I also used one of the patterns from the new ABUNDANT AUTUMN 6x6 paper pad.

Each sack has a tag made from the BAG & TAGS CREATOR CONFETTI CUTS set.

Here they are one at a time, with supplies noted:

Sack is LIME GREEN card stock with STITCHED RAYS COVER PANEL. TANGERINE jack-o-lantern was cut with a die from HALLOWEEN BITS and layered over ABUNDANT AUTUMN pattern paper and a PREMIER POLAR WHITE tag.

Sack is LEAD card stock with TRIANGLES COVER PANEL. BOO YEA sentiment in TANGERINE ink is layered onto a LIME GREEN tag and embellished with a bat from HALLOWEEN BITS (cut from the same ABUNDANT AUTUMN pattern used on all the sacks).

TANGERINE card stock with STITCHED RAYS COVER PANEL. BOO YEA sentiment in MIDNIGHT ink is layered onto an ABUNDANT AUTUMN patterned paper tag. Ghost is from HALLOWEEN BITS.

SAND card stock with CRISS CROSS COVER PANEL. BOO YEA sentiment in LIME GREEN ink is layered onto TANGERINE tag. The little witch's hat is from TOO CUTE TO SPOOK and is paper pieced with pattern paper from ABUNDANT AUTUMN.

Papertrey Ink August 2018 Release Countdown - Fence Line: Autumn

Hello there, and welcome to Day 5 of Papertrey Ink's August 2018 Release Countdown. Today's products are Forest Floor: Autumn, Fence Line: Autumn, and Bold Borders: Foliage.

These new products will be available at 10 pm August 15 in the Papertrey Ink store.

All the beautiful autumn products in this release have me longing for sweater and boot weather!

My project features FENCE LINE: AUTUMN. This set is packed with fall imagery perfect for making fence line scenes.

I started by die-cutting a panel with the new SCALLOP STACKERS: SMALL die set, then with the dies in place and the edges masked, I did some ink blending and splattering with Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides, Spring Moss, and Prairie Grass.

Next I die cut and stamped all of my images and arranged them into a scene. I had quite a few of Papertrey's inks out for this one: Classic Kraft, Fine Linen, True Black, Olive Twist, Spring Moss, Prairie Grass, Ocean Tides, Cocoa Bean, Dark Chocolate, Orange Zest, and Canyon Clay.

For a bit of a rustic touch, I tied some natural jute string along the very bottom.

The sentiment is from SENTIMENT STAPLES: THANKSGIVING, also releasing tomorrow.

Sigh ... fall is my favorite season! I couldn't love this set more! (Actually, the whole release!)

Reverse Confetti | Happy Birthday Jen!

The Reverse Confetti Crew has put together a surprise 40th birthday blog hop today to honor the one and only Jen del Muro! We love you Jen 😘

Wishing you a very happy birthday, and may the year ahead be everything you hope for!

Jen was one of the very first crafters I "met" over a decade ago (and that was after stalking her work for years). She's always been there with encouragement, advice, or just a friendly ear. We did finally meet in person in the Fall of 2016. I arranged a 7-hour layover at her home airport, so that we could hang out for the day. Fun times!

Jen, I treasure our friendship so much. Lots of love to you today and every day!

My card for Jen features PATTERN BUILDER stamps and dies, a MOD FLORAL STACK sentiment, and the STITCHED RAYS COVER PANEL Confetti Cuts.

I started by die-cutting and then stamping three different medallions in bright cheerful colors: PISTACHIO, BUTTERCUP, FLAMINGO, and LAGOON.

To make the circles behind the medallions, I first diecut white panels with the STITCHED RAYS COVER PANEL, then used one of the CIRCLES 'N SCALLOPS dies to cut out the middle. (I used the rest of the cover panel on this project.)

I wanted to do something a little different with the sentiment, so I chose a birthday-appropriate sentiment from MOD FLORAL STACK and stamped it around each medallion. I also added a touch of BUTTERCUP ink blending and some yellow splatter around the medallions.

Papertrey Ink August 2018 Release Countdown - Day 1

Papertrey Ink is kicking off it's August 2018 Release countdown today with an assortment of Halloween products. You're in for some real treats! Today's featured products are:

SENTIMENT STAPLES: HALLOWEEN
CORNER ADORNER: AUGUST
GRINS & GHOULS
A BIT MORE: GRINS & GHOULS
SCARED SILLY.

You can find all the details about these new products HERE.

The August Release products will be available at 10 pm August 15 in the Papertrey Ink store.

I'm sharing a Halloween treat idea featuring mostly SCARED SILLY with a touch of GRINS & GHOULS and  A BIT MORE: GRINS & GHOULS

SCARED SILLY is a "build-a-monster" set with two body shapes, eyes, arms, legs, hair, facial features and more. I had the idea to use Papertrey's Clear Tag Domes/Ornaments as the monster body, fill its tummy with something yummy, and stamp some arms, legs, eyes, and such around it. They turned out pretty cute!

I started with the monster bodies. First, I die-cut the scalloped circle using the Scene It: Basic Backer die, but any large enough circle die would do the trick. I repeatedly and randomly stamped the "trick or treat" sentiment from A BIT MORE: GRINS & GHOULS in Fresh Snow ink, then added some tictacs and sealed the dome (more on that below).

The white card base was die-cut with a new die: SCALLOP STACKERS: SMALL. You'll be seeing more about that die set later in the countdown.

Using an extra Basic Backer die-cut as a placeholder, I stamped some arms, feet, horns, and eyes (all from SCARED SILLY), then added some stars (from GRINS & GHOULS) for a bit more color. The mouth/tongue are stamped and die-cut and adhered to the tops of the domes.

The monster is holding a sweet little flag with a sentiment from SCARED SILLY

The domes are large and hold quite a bit. I was able to fit about 1 1/2 tictac packages in there, with room to spare. The domes do come with a little tab for hanging. I was able to snip those off without damaging the domes at all.

One word of caution: I used liquid glue to adhere the domes. In order to prevent the glue from getting inside and possibly coming in contact with the candy, I pressed the dome down and then very carefully applied the glue to the perimeter. On the purple one, you can see I added True Black baker's twine around it to help cover the glue. So far, these are holding up just fine. I think a fine tip hot glue application could work, or even some thin red line tape. Or you could go with some type of wrapped candy inside, where glue inside the dome wouldn't be a concern.

Reverse Confetti August Hop

Hello, hello! It's blog hop day at Reverse Confetti (always on the 8th), so make yourselves comfy and come along for the ride! If you've already started the hop, you should have arrived here from Melissa Phillips's blog, and you'll be heading to Tricia Barber next (full hop order down below). If not, head over to the Reverse Confetti blog to get started.

The Confetti Crew and 'Fetti Friends will be sharing pattern paper projects today. Reverse Confetti has a wide range of 6x6 paper pads, each featuring two of twelve different patterns (24 sheets total). I'm sure you'll be seeing lots of those patterns today! And if you like what you see, you can do some pattern paper shopping HERE.

I must confess I forgot all about the patterned paper focus for this month's hop, and my planned project had NONE. I was able to put together this last-minute card, though, from leftovers I had on my desk from other projects. I can't wait to share my original hop card some other time --  I quite like it!

I've been having a ton of fun playing around with the new PATTERN BUILDER stamps and dies and different ink combos. For today's project, I've used PISTACHIO, FLAMINGO, LAGOON, and BUTTERCUP

I stamped two of the medallions and two of the center pieces in coordinating colors and layered them together.

The background is a STITCHED RAYS COVER PANEL diecut with the sides trimmed down slightly and a circle cut out of the center. I placed a yellow pattern from PATTERN PLAY behind the opening for some extra color and visual texture.

The sentiment, from TALL BLOOMS, is stamped in BLUEBERRY ink. I added a sprinkling of clear sequins and called it done!
