Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Tropical Trip

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

I'd love to take a trip right to this tropical scene that I created with Lawn Fawn's adorable Life is Good stamp set and coordinating dies. I started with the stamped island and water, then watercolored in the sand, sea, and sky using Tombow markers and a water brush. The trees, hammock, and crab are stamped, watercolored, and die-cut. The sun was cut on my Cameo (which is in obvious need of a new blade and/or a fresh, new, nice and sticky mat - my apologies for the sloppy sun!). The "hello" and clouds are die-cuts (Simon Says Stamp and Lil' Inker, respectively), and the word "paradise" was computer-generated prior to die-cutting.

For little extras, I added some twine bows to tie the hammock onto the trees, used a clear Wink of Stella pen to add some shimmer to the water, and coated the hello die-cut with glossy accents.

STAMPS: Life is Good (Lawn Fawn)
DIES: Life is Good (Lawn Fawn), Small Hello (Simon Says Stamp),
Rainbow & Clouds (Lil' Inker Designs)
CUT FILES: Lori Whitlock Sun (Silhouette ID #17118)
OTHER: clear embossing powder, water brush, Scotch foam tape
white linen thread, Ranger glossy accents

StampNation Summer Beach Vacation Blog Hop

Today we are kicking off the StampNation Summer Beach Vacation event with a Blog Hop. Each of the StampNation Dream Team members, along with some of our crafty friends (including me!), are hopping along sharing cards inspired by our first challenge, "Beach Style," as well as a peek at another favorite projects from the event!

Here's my card for the first challenge:

I'm absolutely smitten with Lawn Fawn's adorable beach-themed Life Is Good stamp set and coordinating dies! Especially the super cute flip-flops! How cute are they paper pieced with some bright polka dot paper?? The towel is a piece of patterned paper (Echo Park Walking On Sunshine 6x6 collection) rolled up and fringed at the end. That's my beach style: sand, surf, and a few colorful accessories!

It's time to hop along now. Make sure you leave comments at each of the blogs listed below to be eligible to win...

Plus...

For each of these prizes, one winner will be randomly drawn from all the blog hop comments. A second winner will be chosen from all the challenge entries at StampNation!

You will have have until 11:59 pm EST on July 27 to leave a comment. Winners will be chosen randomly and will be announced on Monday, July 28th on Catherine's blog.

For today's card, I broke out the beautiful Simple Stories Harvest Lane 6x6 collection. I love the country look, with the different plaid, gingham, striped, and woodgrain patterns. The sweet pumpkins from Lawn Fawn's So Thankful set are colored with Copics and popped up with some Sticky Thumb Dimensional Dots. The clear crystal flourish by Zva Creative makes a perfect accent and really glams things up beautifully. See the strip of crochet trim along the left? It's 1/2" Ivory Self-Adhesive Lace Fabric Tape by Love My Tapes, and it's amazing! So easy to work with, since the adhesive is already on the trim. Simply peel off the backing to adhere. The tiny twine bows on the pumpkins are done with some Natural Twine String Thread by Creative Impressions.

From here, you're visiting Robin Shakoor. Thanks for visiting, and enjoy the hop! We hope to see you and your creations this week on Paper Craft Planet!

Stay Tuned

I'm loving the cute, fun images in Lawn Fawn's Stay Tuned set, available at i {heart} papers. Here's a kind-of, sort-of, but not CAS card today. I started out with a color combo that I pulled from Jillibean Soup's Country Pumpkin Chowder Soup and Soup Staples 2 6x6 collections. The image and sentiment are stamped in Memento's Espresso Truffle ink, my new favorite brown ink. It's so dark and rich it's almost (but not) black -- love it! I stamped the image a second time, trimmed it out, and popped it up with some Sticky Thumb Dimensional Dots. You can't see it in the picture, but I also colored over the image with a clear atyou Spica glitter pen for a subtle sparkle. Other details include a mini binder clip, a notebook punched edge, some narrow yellow velvet ricrac (adhered with 1/8" Scor-Tape), yellow ribbon tabs, and of course, a big layered bow element. The dark brown twill is from my stash. It's topped with some Green Apple Divine Twine and a turquoise button.

Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes on Facebook yesterday! This is the birthday card I made for my twin sister, who really does rock!

Have a fantastic day,
