Introducing Petite Places: Home & Garden

Welcome to the second Group Post for the Papertrey January release countdown. Today we are introducing the newest (and final) Petite Places set: Home & Garden. As hard as it is to bid farewell to these adorable buildings, we are definitely ending on a high note. Home & Garden is my new favorite!

The January release will be available at 10 pm EST January 15 in the Papertrey Ink store.

Betsy cleverly designed this set to double up as a house or a garden shed. My first project focuses on that sweet garden shed. As always, the charm is in the details: trees, tree swing, picket fence, wheelbarrow, flower garden images, and more.

I had this idea to create my garden shed scene within the framed opening of the Seed Packet Frame, and I love how it turned out. Different, but fun. The Seed Packet Frame is layered onto a Rustic White Seed Packet, and behind that is a Kraft Seed Packet. I embellished with felt Bitty Button Stacks flowers. The sentiment, which is included in Home & Garden, is stamped onto one of the tags from Tiny Tags. Background papers are: Chicken Scratch Gingham and Black & White All Over.

This next project features the 3D house from Home & Garden. (I should warn you, there are a lot of photos coming!)

I started with a 4" clay pot, turned the saucer upside down to make a lid, and tied it together with some Simply Chartreuse Satin Ribbon. The ribbon feeds through a white Scalloped Tag Base die-cut.

The scene itself sits on a Simply Chartreuse Basic Backer.

I stamped a tag using Keep It Simple: New Home along with a house image.

I stamped the entry (which by itself can be the garden shed) with a cobblestone pattern from Petite Places: Walk in the Park to give it a stone detail. The extra window frame layer is not from this set. I borrowed those from Petite Places: School.

I also stamped and die-cut a cobblestone path to the front door using stamps and dies from Walk in the Park

The flower garden is just too, too clever! For construction, place the tabs from the rows of flowers into the slits in the garden plot, then secure to the back. Love this! In this shot, you can also see the picket fence and the arbor.

Here you can see another tree in the backyard, this one with an adorable tree swing.

I had so much fun making this! I thought I'd fill this with either baked goods or seed packets. Would be a great hostess gift as well!
