Papertrey Ink February Release In Review

Here we are at the end of Papertrey's big 8th anniversary release and celebration! This has been a wild, crazy fun ride for the new girl!

Be sure to visit Nichole's blog for more release in review, as well as one last very exciting announcement!

All the new anniversary release products will be available in the Papertrey Ink store tonight at 10 pm EST.

I have quite a few projects to share today. Ready?

First up is Maile's Beautiful Butterflies Layers stamps and dies, Smoosh stamps and dies, and Maile's gorgeous Watercolor Wonder paper pack. Oh, and there's some of that gorgeous Sheer Basics vellum. I can't get enough of that!

I love the new Bitty Bouquets stamps and dies, and combined them with the Keep It Simple: Mother stamps and the Keep It Simple Frames dies to make some Mother's Day cards.

This first one features a light watercolored background and tag, along with the super pretty tulips.

I love sending Mother's Day wishes to my mom friends, so this sentiment combo is perfect!

The Stitched Cover Plate is such a great way to add beautiful texture to the background. Here I've used it as a background for one of Dawn's Tucked In: Mother stamps. I love these for card insides *and* outsides! The floral accent is from Betsy's charming Quilted: Spring stamps and dies.

I think Betsy really hit it out the park with the beautiful font combinations in the Easter Alleluias stamp set. I've framed the sentiment with Bitty Bouquets wreath.

I had to give Laura and Betsy's "smooshing" a try on this next card. The soft, watercolor effect seemed perfect for Lizzies Etched Easter Eggs stamps and dies. Wow, are these gorgeous, and with so many possibilities. Here I've stamped the images, gold embossed, colored with Copics, and coated them with a clear Wink of Stella. So much shimmer and shine!

I have only scratched the surface of the fabulous Blue Skies stamps, an ingenious set design with so many fun possibilities. The Blue Skies Cover Plate and the Blue Skies Rays Cover Plate are super fun, too!

One last product and idea to feature. I'm really eager to use my Moments Inked planner as a tool to help with memory keeping. I found that the largest of the Basic Pages dies is 4 1/2" x 6", which means if you just trim a half-inch off the coil notebook edge, what's left fits into a 6x4 scrapbook pocket. So, right away, I thought wouldn't it be great to create some type of week in review or weekly highlights journal card, keep it clipped in my planner all week, then at the end the week, trim off the binding and slip it into my album!

Seemed like a great idea, but I had some immediate objections (and I know some of you will relate!): what if I mess up, what if I run out of room, I hate my handwriting, etc. So I decided to design the week in review card to utilize several of the tiny little baby pages of the Basic Pages die set (cutest little notebook page ever, by the way!). I die-cut four of them and adhered them to the week in review card. That way, throughout the week, I can make notes as the events take place. If I end up with more than four, I can decide which to use here and which to move to a different journal card. If I mess up, I can just cut a new one And if I really can't stand my writing, I can pretty them up later -- the important thing is the highlights are recorded. And the bonus is I *could* transfer as-is straight to my album.

This didn't turn out quite like I wanted, so I'm cringing, but posting it anyway, in case it gives some of you an idea for your planners!

"February" is die-cut with the Monthly Moments: Year Round 1 Dies. The words "week" and "highlights" are both from the Moments Inked: Remembered stamp set. I added a chipboard letter from my stash (and PTI's number dies to my shopping cart <grin>). The score line up close to the binding indicates the trim line.

All of the new products from the past ten day will be available for purchase in the Papertrey Ink store tonight at 10 pm. Visit Nichole and the design team blogs for lots more!

This is a wonderful collection of cards, Amy. I especially am drawn to the second card. You've reminded me (once again) to place images so that they fall off the side of the page. And the Easter card is stunning.
