July SFYTT - Sweet Dreams

Greetings! It's the first Saturday of the month, which means it's time for a brand-new Sketch For You To Try. Our sponsor this month is one of my very favorite companies ... My Favorite Things!! I used to be on their design team, and I am certain not a single release has gone by that I haven't thought how fun it would be to "work" with those images again! Good thing Michelle at Stamper's Dream carries a variety of MFT images and dies -- I can still get a good fix when I need one.

My Favorite Things images and dies are widely available from brick and mortar stores, online stores, as well as from the MFT Boutique, so chances are, you're already familiar with them. But if not, do check 'em out! Some of the cutest, most clever stamps and dies on the market!

Here's the July Sketch For You To Try:

And just for fun, here's what it looks like rotated to the right ...

Because that's what I did for my sample, which features the adorable Bedtime Story Pure Innocence stamp set by My Favorite Things:

Isn't she just precious tucked into her sweet little bed reading a bedtime story? The cloud border along the top (totally inspired by the amazing recently release cloud border die from The Cat's Pajamas) was built using a combination of MFT's Cloud Trio and Flat-Bottom Clouds Die-namics dies. The yellow stars were die-cut with MFT's Stacking Stars Die-namics die. Coloring is with Copic markers and the papers (those used for the paper pieced bed linens as well as the darker "night sky" background) are from A Walk in the Park collection by Echo Park.

Sister comings and goings update: Sony is back (yay!!), but we do say farewell to Kelly Lunceford. Her hands will soon be filled with a new little bundle of joy! Best wishes, Kelly!

1. The SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY {SFYTT} will be posted on the first Saturday of each month on www.iheart2stamp.com at 8am EST and will stay open to participants until the last day of the month, unless otherwise noted.
2. This is for fun! Interpret the sketch as you wish and embellish as desired. There are no vendor restrictions, but we would love to see you use the sponsor’s stamps!
3. Each month we will have a Designer of the Month that will be chosen from past month’s participants.
4. Come and play with us on each and every sketch! On Christmas Day 2011 a prize package worth over $200 will be given away to one very lucky and loyal SFYTT stamper that participates in EVERY sketch for the year.
5. To be eligible for the prize package, you must complete ALL of the sketches by each of the deadlines AND link your creation to the link system on that month’s sketch post (the first Saturday of the month). Everyone except for SFYTT Sisters are eligible for the prize package, including Designer of the Month and international players.
6. When posting your sketch creation on your blog, please post the sketch and link back to the sketch post on www.iheart2stamp.com. When posting to online galleries, please use the keyword “SFYTT.”

One more thing before I go ...

Stamper's Dream is having a major sale through Monday, July 4. Save 20% off the lowest marked price on many, many store products! Find all the details HERE. Happy shopping!

Have a great weekend, blog friends!
