Seize the Cupcake

Clearly, I've had cupcakes on the brain this week :) Today's card uses the adorable new Verve set, Carpe Cupcake. The layout is Jen's Sketch For You To Try...

and the color combo is from the Colour Create Challenge #52 (you *know* I didn't choose those on my own! I am so NOT a purple person!), based on this beautiful inspiration photo:

I used to participate in tons of challenges. Not so much lately, but three new-to-me challenges this week have reminded me how much I enjoy them. The papers are all from Basic Grey's Kioshi collection, which seemed a great fit for the color challenge. The cupcakes are paper pieced and dotted with glitter. Behind the center sentiment circle, I added a doily, which is an optional extra with the Colour Create challenge.

Check out what the SFYTT sisters did with this week's super cool sketch:

Jen del Muro with August's guest designer, Ashley N. Newell
Amber Hight
Amy Rohl
Carole Burrage
Jenn Diercks
Jodi Collins
Kelly Lunceford

To play along, link your sketch creation to Jen's blog and remember to use keyword SFYTT in online galleries.

Have a great weekend! I'm dividing my Saturday between Football Fest, the big fundraiser kickoff to the fall football season and a little birthday fete for my mom's 70th. Then tomorrow, I'm going to pretend I know what I'm talking about and write up a tutorial - more on that another day ;)

Amy, you may not like purple, but it likes you! Beautiful card :) And in my humble opinion, no one does cupcakes likes Wegmans {laughing} Oh how I have wished for one with a nice cup of tea since we have lived in Arizona. But...I'm back in Virginia again (got here Thursday evening). I've had a few moments to see what you've been doing. As always, you just simply inspire me with your impeccable work!

You are always so clever with these sketches. I can never think this way, and always just do sketches exactly as I see them. Love the lace background!
