Celebrating Love: Now & Then

Welcome to Day 3 of Papertrey Ink's December release countdown. Today is the first of three group posts for this release, and we are featuring two new wedding and anniversary product sets: Paper Clippings: Love Story, designed by Betsy Veldman, and To Have & To Hold, designed by Heather Nichols.

All of the new products will be available at 10 pm ET on December 15 in the Papertrey Ink store.

There is no doubt in my mind if I were planning a wedding today, it would be a rustic chic barn wedding. I just love old barns and all the stories they hold!

Today's wedding card is inspired by just such a barn wedding. I started with a background panel in a dark and rich woodgrain print. To that, I added two simple heart wreaths, both stamped in Mint Julep with the heart image from To Have To Hold

Next comes the stamped open book die-cut, which is from Paper Clippings: Love Story Details, and the sentiment die-cut, which is from Paper Clippings: Love Story (I just trimmed them out from the frame). The multi-step open book image is so clever and quite easy to line up. I added a bookmark with some gold cord and a bead.

The sentiment is die-cut from the new Lilac Grace card stock and sponged with Lilac Grace and Royal Velvet. I absolutely love Lilac Grace. It's so light and dreamy! (I never thought I'd say that about a purple!)

The flowers and leaves (from To Have & To Hold) are stamped in Spring Rain/Blueberry Sky and Prairie Grass. Final touches are some white satin sequins and some distressing around the perimeter of the woodgrain panel.

Reverse Confetti December Release Hop

Reverse Confetti's December release is now available, and today the Confetti Crew is celebrating with a new release blog hop. So glad you're here!

My first project today features You're So stamps and the coordinating You're So Confetti Cuts die set. I arranged my stamped and die-cut sentiment around the heart-in-a-circle die-cut from the previously released Globe Confetti Cuts die set, and layered everything over a soft pink watercolor wash. The sweet leaf sprig is from Whole Lotta Thanks.

I finished the card with some stitched vellum, linen thread, and clear sequins.

Stamps: You're So, Whole Lotta Thanks

Confetti Cuts: Your'e So, Whole Lotta Thanks, Globe

Ink: Versamark, PTI Pale Peony and Spring Moss

Paperwatercolor paper, white card stock, PTI Pale Peony card stock, vellum

Otherwatercolors, white embossing powder, clear sequins, opaque white mist, sewing machine

For my next project, I made some Peekaboo Tag Layer money holders. On the outside is a sentiment from Outlined.

The recipient pulls the tab to reveal a bill tucked inside.

To make these, I die-cut a Peekaboo Tag Layer and a base tag (from the Topped Off Tag set). They are adhered together with foam tape to allow room for the folded up bill to tuck inside. The tags are each topped with a Hang Ups, Too Confetti Cuts die-cut, some Charcoal striped twine, jingle bells, and wired cord.

I made a trio of these for Christmas using the Very Merry patterned paper pack.

Stamps: Outlined

Ink: Reverse Confetti Brick

PaperVery Merry patterned paper collection; black card stock; Reverse Confetti Lime Green and RC Aqua card stock

Otherjingle bells, enamel dots, charcoal striped twine, wired cord

Figure of Speech -- what  fun set! I decided to go bold with some Hero Arts neon ink for the speech bubbles.

The translucent embossing paste stenciling and the white ink splatters in the background add a little bit of a grunge/graffiti look.

Printed vellum and a white stitched frame from All Framed Up Confetti Cuts join the party. And a teeny, tiny hot pink clothespin makes the perfect accent.

My card today features three new products: You're So stamp set, companion You're So Confetti Cuts dies, and the Bar Tag Layer Confetti Cuts die.

I stacked several Bar Tag Layers together with acetate in front and in back, to create a see-through shaker tag. The background layer on the card base was die-cut with the Linked Circles Cover Plate Confetti Cuts. The flowers are all stamped with images from Blooms 'N Buds and die-cut with the Blooms 'N Buds Confetti Cuts.
