Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Plush & Plaid

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Plush & Plaid.

We hope you'll play along! The LEAD of this challenge will be invited as a Guest Designer in a future challenge. Please visit the Curtain Call Challenge blog for all the challenge info and deadline.

I know my quilt interpretation isn't exactly plaid (although there's one quilt-block that's plaid!), but it is inspired by the autumn colors and the warmth and coziness of those blankets.

I've used Papertrey's Quilted: Autumn stamp set and coordinating Quilted: Autumn Dies to create the autumn leaf quilt. For the colored and patterned quilt blocks I stamped tone-on-tone patterns using Summer Sunrise, Canyon Clay, Pure Poppy, and Scarlet Jewel. The Vintage Cream Linen quilt die-cut is layered over a square panel of Ocean Tides card stock.

I stamped a fall leaf and acorn cluster to accent the bottom. The "Thankful For You" sentiment is also from Quilted: Autumn.

The quilt is layered onto a Pinefeather Tag Sale: Quilted die-cut, and then onto a Spring Moss Stripes patterned panel. A length of Aqua Mist ribbon is threaded through the tag and tied off with some jute twine.

Since the Pinefeather card base is so dark, I added a layer of Vintage Cream Linen card stock to the inside, which I stamped with a border of leaf and acorn images from Quilted: Autumn.

  11. I just made a get well card last night using this die, it's becoming a favorite - especially since our Fall in MN has been so long and wonderfully mild. It's great for so many occasions. I love the colors you chose for your card and I always like to see a little surprise on the inside too - very pretty.
