Introducing Enclosed

Welcome to Day 3 of Papertrey Ink's February 2015 release countdown. All of the new products will be available February 15 at 10 pm.

Before I get started, I just wanted to express my thanks for the warm welcome to the Papertrey team! My product package came yesterday afternoon, and I'm having such fun digging in!

Today, the team is featuring a new series, Enclosed, designed by Dawn McVey. The Enclosed series starts with a basic folded circle tag die. Each month, a new shape (with stamps and dies), will be added to the collection. We begin with a perennial favorite: flowers!

For my first project, I used the Enclosed stamps and dies to create a flower-shaped mini card (it could be a tag too).

The mini card is in three layers. A Basic Folded Tag serves as the base. Next is a solid flower die-cut from white card stock using the Enclosed: Flower solid die. I sponged on some Harvest Gold ink, fading to white at the bottom. Last is the top sentiment frame layer. For that, I watercolored Harvest Gold, Sweet Blush, and Berry Sorbet onto watercolor paper, then cut the sentiment frame using the Enclosed: Flower sentiment frame die.

Before adhering the top layer, I stitched on the vellum sentiment using metallic thread. For a little sparkle, I added some clear sequins.

Supplies:
Stamps: Enclosed: Flower
Dies: Basic Folded Tag, Enclosed Flower
Ink: VersaMark, Harvest Gold, Sweet Blush, Berry Sorbet
Paper: Stamper's Select White card stock, 140-pound watercolor paper, vellum card stock
Other: water brush, gold thread, sewing machine, clear sequins

My next project shows the Enclosed: Flower dies in action as a tag.

Here, I've started with a Basic Folded Tag. On the outside, I sponged the edges (Hawaiian Shores and Harvest Gold) and stamped the Smile sentiment in Hawaiian Shores). I added a butterfly accent that I stamped in Berry Sorbet using the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set. The white wing detail was stamped using an image from Maile Belles's new Beautiful Butterflies Layers stamp set, which was featured yesterday (Day 2 of the February countdown). The gold body was die-cut using the Beautiful Butterflies Layers dies.

On the inside, I stamped "to" and "from," which are included in the Enclosed Flower stamp set. This time, I added a Harvest Gold Enclosed: Flower layer to the back of the Basic Folded Tag, to that the circle tag would be the flower center.

I filled a glassine bag with some sweet treats, folded down the top, secured with a little tape, and tied on some twine. The twine becomes a perfect place to hang the tag (just like a clothesline). That touch of shimmer on the sentiment was done with a clear Wink of Stella.

Supplies:
Stamps: Enclosed: Flower, Beautiful Butterflies, Beautiful Butterflies Layers
Dies: Basic Folded TagEnclosed: Flower, Beautiful Butterflies Layers
Ink: Fresh Snow, Berry Sorbet, Hawaiian Shores, Harvest Gold
Paper: Stamper's Select White, Harvest Gold
Other: glassine bag, twine

Last is a card that shows off the two-step flower petal building images in the Enclosed: Flower stamp set.

First, I die-cut a solid white flower shape, then stamped the large petals in Harvest Gold and the smaller petals in Sweet Blush. I used one of the Beautiful Butterflies Layers images to add subtle white dots to the yellow petals, and used a white gel pen to add white dots to the smaller petals. I fussy cut the flower, curled the edges, and layered onto an Ocean Breeze Enclosed: Flower die-cut. The sentiment is from the Swoosh die-cut set that was featured yesterday.

Supplies:
Stamps: Enclosed: Flower, Beautiful Butterflies, Beautiful Butterflies Layers
Dies: Enclosed: Flower, Beautiful Butterflies Layers, Swoosh
Ink: Harvest Gold, Sweet Blush, Berry Sorbet, Fresh Snow
Paper: Kraft, Ocean Tides, gold, and Stamper's Select White card stock; vellum
Other: doily, Berry Sorbet ribbon, foam adhesive, white gel pen

  6. Oh Amy - you really started off with a bang! these are just beautiful. Did you add a Wink of Stella on the second tag's "Smile" - love it - and the little white gel pen details on the last one. Just the wonderful little added extras that put them all over the top. They shouldn't call it a design team yaknow.. more like group of superior enablers. ;-)

  19. You succeeded in getting two days worth of released products into one. Well done with these sweet projects.
It always surprises me how one little detail can stand out, even in a group of projects. I just love how the white dots on the petals of the yellow tag add a little extra something. They keep drawing my eye.
