Seize the Cupcake

Clearly, I've had cupcakes on the brain this week :) Today's card uses the adorable new Verve set, Carpe Cupcake. The layout is Jen's Sketch For You To Try...

and the color combo is from the Colour Create Challenge #52 (you *know* I didn't choose those on my own! I am so NOT a purple person!), based on this beautiful inspiration photo:

I used to participate in tons of challenges. Not so much lately, but three new-to-me challenges this week have reminded me how much I enjoy them. The papers are all from Basic Grey's Kioshi collection, which seemed a great fit for the color challenge. The cupcakes are paper pieced and dotted with glitter. Behind the center sentiment circle, I added a doily, which is an optional extra with the Colour Create challenge.

Check out what the SFYTT sisters did with this week's super cool sketch:

Have a great weekend! I'm dividing my Saturday between Football Fest, the big fundraiser kickoff to the fall football season and a little birthday fete for my mom's 70th. Then tomorrow, I'm going to pretend I know what I'm talking about and write up a tutorial - more on that another day ;)

  13. Amy, you may not like purple, but it likes you! Beautiful card :) And in my humble opinion, no one does cupcakes likes Wegmans {laughing} Oh how I have wished for one with a nice cup of tea since we have lived in Arizona. But...I'm back in Virginia again (got here Thursday evening). I've had a few moments to see what you've been doing. As always, you just simply inspire me with your impeccable work!
