Baby Shower Favors

A week or so ago, I posted an invitation I designed for a baby shower that I was planning with some friends. Yesterday was the shower, and the day was just perfect in every way. I mean, really, it was just one of those occasions you hope will never end!

A couple of readers asked me to post the shower favors, so I thought I'd share those today. To go along with the sweet peas on the invitations, we packaged up some sweet pea seeds as favors. We ordered the seeds in bulk, so we first put a couple teaspoons of seeds in small zip-top jewelry bags, then placed those in some of Papertrey's glassine bags. A top-fold tag/bib/label (whatever you want to call it) is tied on with some 1/4" grosgrain ribbon and a button. The tag is made of Kraft card stock and includes a sweet note with planting instructions. The Kraft is matted with Soft Sky, and some Dark Chocolate scallops peek out from the bottom, too. A punched border and a row of dry embossed dots were pretty much all the additional embellishing they needed. The favors were displayed in an antique dough bowl (I think that's what it's called). I forgot to take a picture ahead of time, so the photo above shows just the extras that I brought home with me.

Here's a closer look at the tag:

Hope you had a great weekend! Mine was busy, but rejuvenating, too. My daughter decided to extend her weekend with a case of what we think may be pink-eye. She wasn't "sick" in the not-feeling-well sense, just contagious (most likely), so I kept her home from school. We had the best time hanging out in the back yard most of the day :) When the bus dropped off my oldest son, the driver asked my daughter if she was playing hooky. I've gotta say, it was just as fun as playing hooky, with the benefit of being perfectly excused :) Gotta love that!
